Rider Ranjit Singh was a Sikh youth, from a small village in Punjab. He was admitted to the Indian Army in 2000 at the age of just 17. He was an excellent player and a specialist in basketball. After two years of service, he was appointed as a gunner to walk on the tank.
Within a few days, he was appointed to the Rajasthan Rifles. Rajasthan Rifles is a special part of the army, which was formed after 1990 to deal with insurgency in Kashmir. In this, 50% is taken from the infantry and the remaining 50% from the rest of the army.
Since Ranjit Singh was not from the Infantry, he was sent to Corps Battle School for training before being sent to Kashmir. In this school, 3 to 4 thousand soldiers take training at a time and this training is of four weeks.
Ranjit Singh was the best student judge in this training.
After a very rigorous and tough training, Ranjit Singh joined the company operating base of his unit in Kashmir. He hoped that now he would get some relief. But the schedule here was more strict than that training.
This unit consists of 60 - 70 personnel in which one third is in administration and security, one third in patrolling and operation and rest one third in rest and training.
During a major operation or emergency, all the soldiers are in the field and at that time there is 24 to 72 hours of duty without any rest.On an average, a soldier gets only 5 to 6 hours of sleep, sometimes even in installments.
In such an environment, Ranjit Singh worked for about 6 months and took part in small and big operations in which 7 terrorists were killed.
A special job of such a unit is to gather intelligence by meeting local people. Ranjit Singh was also entrusted with the responsibility of contacting people and collecting information.
Usually soldiers go to the village with the medical team, meet their contact sources and gather information.
Ranjit Singh also started going from village to village with medical teams and teams of Sadbhavana Project and started making contact with people.
Ranjit ji developed his many sources, on the basis of whose information the army carried out several successful operations.
And one day Ranjeet met a younger sister of a source. Love at first site. from both sides. The first meeting was as embarrassing as it was. But soon both started searching for excuses to meet.

A day later he had to go to a new posting, so today he was not given any duty in the unit so that he could do his packing. He could not leave the camp and go out.
Ranjit saw that a patrolling team was coming out on foot. He left the camp by looking at the back of that team without telling any officer. When the village came close, he broke away from his team and reached a desolate house.
Ranjit was in army attire with all his weapons. He had called his beloved in this house. Ranjit knew how much risk he is taking, but who thinks again in front of love.
The meeting was mostly Ranjit promised his beloved that he would come back soon and get married and take him to his village. The two vowed to stay together and then promised to meet them and left the house.
But as soon as he came out of the house. He saw a crowd standing outside. Crowded crowd in anger. People surrounded Ranjit and started pushing him and got down on killing him. He was shouting that the girl was raped by Ranjit.Ranjit tried to convince the crowd. The girl also told the crowd, but there was no one to listen. The crowd was going mad with anger and took off on taking Ranjit's life. Ranjit took his gun in his hand and warned him.
On hearing this warning, a man attacked him with an ax in his hand. Seeing no other choice, Ranjit fired. The bullet hit the man directly and he fell there and piled up.The crowd immediately trimmed and Ranjit left from there. But he was barely able to go 50 yards away when a large crowd from the opposite direction surrounded him again.Ranjit was standing alone in the middle of a crowd of hundreds of people in the middle of the road. The crowd was throwing stones at him. The crowd was intent on killing Ranjit.There was a crisis for Ranjit. He had guns, grenades. He could throw a grenade at that crowd. Could fire But it was certain that many people would have been killed.
Perhaps the guilt of taking a life was already dominating him. Ranjit turned his gaze beyond the crowd. He saw his girlfriend. There was a flutter in people's grip. Got eyes of both. The girl's eyes were filled with tears.
Ranjit raised his gun and stuck his placenta in his head. One shot was fired.
Like fire, this news was spreading in Kashmir that an army soldier raped a girl and killed a civilian. It was a matter of great humiliation for the army. Taking action immediately, the police started the proceedings.

The government gave compensation to the family of the deceased person. The army took the girl under its protection and took full responsibility for her studies.
